Each Kete is woven to the customers specifications, and will tell their story. Sometimes the kete is to someone special, sometimes it is to commemorate a special occasion. Sometimes it’s ‘just because’. In my opinion, you can never have too many kete! I have one for every occasion, and they all have a different korero 😊
These can also be commissioned, or you can browse the stock we have on hand. All wallhangings are made and finished with natural products. The wood is sourced from local beaches or from my own Pā Harakeke, and the shells are also sourced from local beaches. The feathers are all from manu/birds that are not native (unless stated otherwise).
Meaning ‘A Seed’, these wallhangings represent how a small beginning can grow to have a big impact. It can be an act of kindness, starting something new, or even someone who has had an effect in a small but meaningful way. Available in 2 sizes.
These are usually advertised on an ‘as is’ basis. Pōtae start at $80 and come in a medium or a large. Like us on FB and Insta to keep updated with our latest pōtae releases, come see us at the local markets or shop online.
